Summary
The Nurse Administrator is responsible for curriculum development and review for all three tiers of educational content for the State-Wide Infection Prevention Training Center (Virginia Infection Prevention Training Center, VIPTC). Since the grants beginning this has encompassed 3 multiday courses comprised of 12-15 modules each, with live interactive sessions which the Nurse Administrator leads as a preceptor, as well as designed team based learning exercises for participants. In year 3, the incumbent will either create or review/direct the content creation of additional site specific modules or “mini-courses” for dental, dialysis, home care and hospice, and ambulatory settings. Also responsible for assisting to host a monthly webinar, filling in to create and perform content as a lecturer as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
-- Management of VIPTC core employees Program Director and Program Manager
-- Assistance in oversight of grant funds
-- Content creation – use of personal expertise to supplement guideline driven IPC recommendations in creating content for all 3 tiers of the program and specialty setting series
-- Familiarization with regulatory aspects of IPC and teaching of Virginia specific rules/regulations around IPC for different types of facilities
-- Review of content created by other national experts for consistency with the VIPTC core curriculum with feedback and edits as needed
-- Performance of either own content or content created by others at live events including webinar, in-person conferences and synchronous/live virtual conferences
-- Script writing for video content for IPC and oversight of production company writing, filming, and editing of videos for VIPTC
-- Monthly meetings with VDH sponsors and collaboration to create content for state-specific areas of IPC concern on an as needed basis as requested by the sponsors/VDH
Required Qualifications:
-- Nursing degree and at least 5 years practicing bedside nursing in an inpatient facility or ER
-- Certification in Infection Control
-- Practicing Infection Preventionist for at least 5 years
-- Leadership in an Infection Prevention Program in the State of Virginia
Position is open until filled.
This is a restricted position with no set end date; continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
